A weighted grade system assigns different levels of importance to different types of work. For example, a typical university course might be graded as: Homework 20%, Midterm Exam 30%, Final Exam 40%, Participation 10%.
To calculate the weighted grade: multiply each score by its weight percentage, add all the results together, then divide by the total weight (which should equal 100%).
